Policies & Procedures

  • One time non-refundable payment is due at the time of registration to cover the actual expenses.
  • Student advancement to the next Level is determined by their grades and recommendations from the specific Nilai teachers.
  • Students will have to go directly to their classroom upon arrival at school.
  • No student is allowed to leave the school grounds without the permission of the teachers and the knowledge of their parents.
  • Parents shall not stay back as it hinders with the security measures enforced at the school.
  • No loitering allowed within the school premises. After the classes are over, students are supposed to be in the waiting area for their parents.
  • Footwear has to be placed at the designated locations.
  • Toy weapons, knives and other dangerous items are not allowed at school.
  • Please follow the Dress Code as outlined in the Parent Handbook.
  • Every child should participate/ attend the Annual Day program.
  • Every child is required to do two presentations per school year.
  • Reading books given to the student during class will have to be returned in good condition to the respective class teacher only. A fine will be assessed for all lost/damaged books.
  • Library books borrowed from the library have to be returned in the same condition at the Library Desk. A fine will be assessed for all lost/damaged books.

Evaluation Process

The mission of Plano Tamil School is to provide quality education to students in a safe and orderly environment, to prepare them to read, write and speak the Tamil language by following a best in class curriculum, to transform the students in to effective communicators in spoken and literary Tamil and to create future leaders and torch bearers of Tamil language.

The school uses different types of standards to measure the Tamil language understanding of every student. The results of these findings are recorded in a computerized system that also provides graphical and statistical representations of their growth level.

Exams

There are six units for each academic year, for all levels. The details are

  • Unit 1 & Unit 2 Test grades are taken into average and counted as First Semester grades.
  • Unit 3 & Unit 4 Test grades are taken into average and counted as Second Semester grades.
  • Unit 5 & Unit 6 Test grades are taken into average and counted as Third Semester grades.

Students’ weekly class attendance, homework assignments and any other assignments are graded each week as well. The results get recorded along with appropriate comments, so the student and parent could take a look.
